RANTOUL – The Rantoul Village Board has decided to tone down a proposed ordinance that would have authorized police to tow vehicles with loud stereo systems on the first offense. After hearing concerns that towing every vehicle whose stereos make too much noise may be going too far, the board made changes to the ordinance delaying automatic towing until the third offense.
