To Those against exhaust noise,
Exhaust “Noise” is an opinion. As matter of fact, it is your opinion, which means nothing to me! I should have the right to have and drive a vehicle with loud exhaust if I want to. What gives you the right to silence, and not give me my right to a proformance exhaust system on a vehicle that I bought and paid for. If you know anything about the history of what gets your ass from point “A” to point “B”, you would know that loud exhaust were arround before you ever had a drivers lisence!
Don’t like it? Get some ear plugs!
***Please forward this to anyone else that has a problem with my vehicles.
Thanks for nothing!

These aftermarket “hot rod” exhaust systems you complain about, produces jobs, and helps our economy. Just because maybe you drive a POS 1990 civic, does not mean that you need to disriminate against the sound of a hot rod. So if the world was to eradicate the sound of hot rods, what would be next on your list of complaints? I have it, how about the birds chirping, or a dog barking. Come to think about it, my phone pisses me off everytime it rings. Dang, maybe we should shoot the phone, oh wait nevermind, a gun is noise pollution too. What I am getting at, is that I know many people that do not mind the sound of a nice v8 with a performance exhaust. Go cry to you mom some more you little pantywaist.

I drive a 1972 Corvette with sidepipes (4” open, NO MUFFLERS) and a 1980 500cc motorcycle with an OPEN EXHAUST (NO MUFFLER). Could you please provide a listing of your members’ home addresses? I promise to only use it to avoid their neighborhoods ;-)

BTW, each of my vehicles is fully street legal!

I completely agree with you. They are loud. Not as loud as an SLP Loudmouth but they provide exactly the sound I want. I’ll tell you what. Maybe we’ll all put quiet mufflers on our performance cars if all the male members of your orginization will have themselves castrated and all the female members get their ovaries either removed or the tubes cut. That way we’ll all have a better world without people who complain about everything.
Sure I hate all the imports out there with loud annoying mufflers that sound like giant bees but I don’t form an organization to bitch about it. Go do something meaningful with your lives and stop trying to punish those of us who like our cars to actually sound good. A car with a proper exhaust has a low rumble at idle and normal throttle and is only loud when at full throttle. Just because some people have cutouts, doesn’t mean we all do.

I am laughing…at your stupidity. \”Lowering property values\”, get real. You people need help. I am a very socially conservative person and even I am laughing at you people.

I wont digress further into my opinion. Its not needed seeing that you folks are that entrenched in your views.

Waaahhhh, stop belly-aching about “too much noise”! What about the semi trucks that have to use their jake-brakes? Guess you’d better try to outlaw those too huh? What about live concerts all over the world? Ooops! better ban those also! Then there would be no live concerts anymore, wouldn’t that be just peachy for you and your anal retentive cohorts!

I know, let’s make it a world where the youth of America can have no more fun, nothing left to enjoy except what, sipping tea while listening to Mozart??? Get your cranium out of your hind-side!!!! Let people live a little, and enjoy life. For God’s sake, aren’t we controlled enough by the damned Government as it is? If you really want more trouble with our youth, more rebellion, and more rioting, then by all means, take ALL the fun and excitement out of life. You better start thinking ahead about the youth and not just your own simple-minded wishes, because if you don’t, chances are….. you’re gonna regret your decisions!

Sincerely,
An open-minded, non tea sipping, Mozart listening or anal retentive individual!

Quite disturbing…That you would post such nonsense. Go live in a fucking log cabin Mr./Ms. Thoreau and write a book about how peaceful living by a pond is, or will you complain about the noise that the squirrels and such make?

If you live in an apartment & it bothers you, buy a house. If you live in a suburb and it bugs you, buy a house with land. No reason we should weenify America because some people don’t appreciate the sound of a true American deep roaring thundering earthquake shaking exhaust. Brrooooowwwmmmmmm!!!!
I live in an apartment, the noise of those around me is the price we pay to live in apartments or suburbs. When I hear a Mustang or big Ford with some flows go by, I get tingly. When my Ford Cobra neighbor wakes me up, all I can think of is, “D*mn that sounds good.” Then I go back to sleep & dream of the day I too can rumble down the street.

Whats your guys problem? Theres nothing wrong with noise..You cant get rid of it. I’ll be happy to let you know I drive a “boom car” and have the loudest Flowmaster that you can get installed in it. Most people love my car, Im always getting compliments on my system and how “mean” my exhaust makes my truck sound. There is nothing wrong with making a car loud..the louder the better. You do realize that flowmasters help improve exhaust flow which in turn lowers vehicle gas consumption. So let me get this straight, you’d rather rid the world of noise pollution, but you’d rather increase smog and other pollution? That just doesn’t make since to me. Oh, and I guess next you’ll want to ban air planes, air conditioners, TV, radio, computers, and cell phones? Oh, and why not go a step further and complain about the wind and trees, since when wind blows through a tree it makes noise? Come on people…use your brain and find something else to complain about that others actually agree on.

You guys have to be out of your mind. Noise is part of everyday life. If you don’t like it move your bum ass into the mountains. And if it still seems to be too noisy go fly to the frickin moon. Ya’ll a bunch of frickin losers with too much time on your hand. Find something else better to do, like save the rain forest, stop forest fires, or maybe a rocket to shove up your ass to fly to the moon. You pieces of shit! You will never stop the noise. Oh yea by the way ya’ll are not allowed to scream or raise your voice to your kids anywhere because that would be breaking the law right? Too much noise from your ridiculous mouths. GET A LIFE FUCKERS! Tell me where you live so I can get Tony fucking Schmacher to rip his top fuel dragster down your street you sons of bitches. Flowmasters Forever!!!

You all need to find something better to do with your time. Screaming babies and children are taken out in public. That is probably the most annoying “noise” I can think of. You stop letting people take their “noisy” children out in public and I will put a quiet muffler on my car, and quit using my leaf blower, and quit using my lawnmower, and quit my job (because we make a lot of noise), and make sure all of the windows are closed when I run the vacuum, make sure my stereo is turned down, etc., etc., etc….. I could list things that make noise all night. I’m sure no “noise” was made when the carpenters built the house you are living in,was it?

You say that police officers should take a stand and start to pull over the drivers of these \’boom cars\’ more often, but I dont know if you have ever been near a police cars with its sirens on? they are louder then any exhaust I have ever heard. The sounds emmited by a police siren are right below that 150 dB pain threshhold. I can just imagine you thinking to youself \’oh, well that is why we dont want police and emergency workers using their sirens either.\’ Greeeeat idea, maybe next time it will be you in the back of the ambulance when some driver is too dumb to look in their rear-view every 15 seconds like they teach you in drivers education.

Stop stereotyping, 99% of us hot rod drivers are law obiding citizens who take pride in the country we live in. I am damn proud to be driving a car that was made by american hands, in an american factory, with american parts. There is nothing unpatriotic about a loud American made automobile.

I was appalled at your reference to car stereos being used as “advertisements” for drug dealers. I live in a big city and not once have I seen this method being used. When the drug dealers want to sell drugs, they stand on a damn corner. Though some people are idiots, you’d think a person would be a bit smarter than to draw as much attention to themselves as possible while committing a crime. Do you ever hear about bank robbers “bumping” their systems as they drive away to brag that they just robbed a bank? Where I live, we have things called “legal” Bass Competitions. This is where a group of people, sponsored by a company, get together and judge the quality of various car audio systems. By definition, that makes it a sport. Now, when you go to a baseball game inside a dome with crowd sound levels reaching upwards of 145dBA do you start walking around the stadium asking people to be a bit quieter everytime a homerun is hit? Of course not, it’s in the fun of the game. Some things in this world are meant to be loud. Imagine what society would be like if everything was whisper quiet. Eventually peoples hearing would begin to dwindle, similar to the effect of muscle atrophy. I am not saying people who constantly listen to loud music are smart, but a people who like quality music are. For many teenagers in this era, car audio is a form of social status. Around here having a good system makes you look better than if you have a really nice car. Remember when you were young and you had a dream car? Perhaps a Little Deuce Coupe, or a Ford Model T? All of a sudden you get that car and now you are the envy of all your friends. A week later you are told that it is illegal to drive said car. Now people are laughing at you. “ha ha! What are you going to do now?” Then the kid goes crazy and turns to a life of crime in an attempt to regain the good feeling of being liked. Take away social status and you take away a persons dignity. Here’s and idea: rather than wasting thousands of dollars of your own and taxpayers money, how about you go to the hardware store and stock up on ear plugs? Or maybe you’d prefer to cause your children to become social rejects? Nothing kills the mood more than the poor kid in front of you at a concert being forced to wear giant ear muffs.

Are you actually serious about the stuff on this site? It is absolutely ridiculous that you would want laws like this! What about speaking in public? If you have something against the noise of aircrafts I hope you never fly again. You also hate the sound of vehicles. I hope you drive an electric car because every other car makes too much noise for you! If you hate the sound of music do you not listen to the radio? If you hate the sound of anything with a combustion engine, do you not take care of your lawn? Maybe since ambulances make too much noise we should get rid of them! The only reason I am alive today is because of an ambulance! So where do you live if tools make too much noise? I am sure that tools that “make noise” were used in the building of your house. Car alarms a bad idea? I take it your car has never been broken into or stolen. Well, by your rules you should live in a cardboard box in the middle of the forest, but then the animals would make too much noise! So what do you do for a living that has no noise? Oh well, I guess everyone needs something to fight for so that they feel important. By the way I have an audio system that has hit 150.3db. If you tell me where you are located I would love to show it to you! Hopefully one day you will realize how ridiculous your rules are!

Were you sheltered as a child or what? Get a clue you aimless moron. You are talking about limiting an entire society. You sound like a f****** nazi!
Just because some women got to b**** and moan their way to equal rights (when they actually want special treatment…let’s see an average woman do the same physical labor an average man can…get a clue moron) does not mean that your unfounded and overly strict opinion means a d***. Your thoughts here mean nothing. You are worthless.

I am guessing that you have had a few people with loud stereos go driving through your neighborhood. Whoop-di-f******-doo. Shit happens. File a complaint, if that doesn’t help, call the cops. There are already strict noise ordinances. You are proposing a controlled environment that would be a waste of tax dollars (I hope you like giving up 80 percent of your paycheck you dumb-f***)

I hate to tell you this, but you are basically coming out of left field. Just because you don’t like something, doesn’t mean you are going to ruin businesses because of it. YOU ARE NOTHING! Remember that!
So, in closing, I would like to inform you that you are proposing changes that would cost this country more than just tax dollars. How about the jobs that would be lost due to “punishing the installers of electronically amplified music systems” and eliminating course in audio dynamics? Get a f****** clue you selfish b****!

I shouldn’t even be wasting my time pointing out such obvious backwards thinking. But i better before you get out of hand. Do you really think the government needs to regulate even more aspects of our life? If a neighbor has a problem with noise, wouldn’t it be healthier for the community if they confronted you personally, instead of relying on the law to deal with petty complaints? Especially if the person is intolerant selfish person? Why does the law need to step in? There is most likely something wrong with you , you should see a doctor if unexpected noises really effect your state of being the way you tell yourself they do. You obviously have a lot of energy, i suggest you direct it toward a more worthy issue, and quit trying to lobby for more control of our citizens.
Thank you,

I find much of your site totally wrong and mis-informative. For example motorcycle owners rely on loud exhaust to be noticed. There are many accidents involving motorcycles because they couldnt be seen. This is greatly reduced when they can be heard.

leaf blowers?? this is something used by people cleaning up their yard, how is it that big of a problem, turn your music in your house up.

You talk about these boom cars, when i reality i guarantee no one following your cause like helpless sheep have ever been to a stereo competition, or personally know anything about it. You cant even hear these cars when you are outside the building it is being held in. Or even down the street a couple blocks. They compete with their windows up and doors shut. Many of the really loud ones re-inforce the cabin. Why do you care so much if people do this, they cant even drive them on the street, and most people who compete in the “boom-car” arena as you say have alot more respect than that idiots that drive around playing their 200 dollar best buy stereo loud. I am all for giving out fines to people being loud and obnoxious in residential area’s, but when people are out cruising the blvd on a saturday, what do you care if they play their stereo loud.

I also find car alarms annoying. very annoying. These alarms are improperly installed and far too sensitive to be useful. Most good alarms will chirp once if their is contact with the vehicle. chirp again if there is more, and if someone hits it really hard, it will go off. It is the cheap and poorly installed alarms that go off when a truck goes by, or a loud car. These alarms have their sensitivity set much too high. I would love it if cheap car alarms like this were off the road.

I think you are taking this way to far to actually have a club, website, members, everything, you are just as bad as the NRA. Both are so strongly opinionated in one way that you cant ever convince them about anything. Maybe you are different.

thanks,

Justin

Gentlemen and Ladies,

As a true American I respect your right to express your point of view on noise pollution. As a small business owner who relies on admittedly noisy equipment to make a living, I would like to point out that anti-noise legislation would cripple many industries around the United States.

Noise is a fact of life in our modern society. In exchange for our high standard of living, we put up with things that annoy and bother us on a daily basis.

The homes you live in, the offices you work in, were constructed by people making noise.

The food you buy at the supermarket was delivered to the store by a truck belching emissions.

Practically every modern convenience you enjoy right now was produced in a noisy environment, then delivered at some point by truck.

But to legislate noise, to place restrictions on various industries, would cause many, many businesses to shut down for economic reasons.

I respect your right to voice your views. I am merely trying to express my own. After reading the often inane and antagonistic e-mails in your “I Like Noise” forum, I respectfully challenge you to post this message for your viewers.

There’s nothing wrong with looking at both sides of the issue, is there?
